A group of scientists develop the technology to observe future events that inadvertantly creates a doorway to the future- 107 years beyond the present time. Passing through the portal they become trapped in the future when the time doorway collapses behind them. The time travelers find themselves in a world that has been devastated by nuclear war. Mutant man-creatures chase them into underground caves where they discover a subterranean civilization where normal humans live and create scientific wonders.
