FEMFORCE 153 - Gargantarama #16
$9.95, DOUBLE-SIZED 84 page format, saddle-stitched
** Not Yet Available **
Black & white interiors with full color covers.

Writer's and Artist's Names: Writers include: Mark G. Heike, Enrico Teodorani, Mauricio Hunt, Chad Halcolm, Eric Johnson, Stephanie Sanderson-Heike, and Eric Lindberg. Artists include: Mark Glidden, Antonio Convesano, Jerry DeCaire, Jeff Austin, Rock Baker, Adriano Vicente Santos and Mark Heike.
Intended Audience: All-ages fans who like Silver-Age style superheroics as well as classic "good girl" art and superhero comics in general.
Format: Standard comic book size, DOUBLE-THICK 84-page length; black & white interiors with color covers; saddle-stitched.
Synopsis: Can SYNN'S loss of control have a medical cause? She and TARA remain on the sidelines helping BUCKAROO BETTY, DARKSHADE and BLACK PHANTOM while MS. VICTORY, SHE-CAT and STARDUST confront an awesome new villainess whose minions may not be what they seem, and NIGHTVEIL fights for her life a universe away
Special Notes: This SUPER-SIZED issue of Femforce has a particularly international flavor to it, as the main story is co-plotted by the talented head man of Italy's B-Brand-Comix, Enrico Teodorani; with the main chapter illustrated by B-Brand's top artist, Antonio Conversano. AC and B-Brand have been joint-venturing for some time now, and this issue will bring the long-running subplot featuring B-Brand's star character CALAVERA (who has been popping up as a guest-star in FF for awhile) to it's culmination. In addition, talented South Americans Mauricio Hunt and Adriano Vicente Santos provide another installment of Mauricio's teen superheroine, KINETICS. There's plenty more "home grown" comic book fun here, too- including new installments in the screwball Middle Ages saga of ROWENA; the adventures of WWII trouble-shooter DINOSAUR GIRL, and the wild fantasy of 1-800-GIANTESS. And as always, this 84-page comic book extravaganza features nothing but ALL-NEW, NEVER BEFORE SEEN story and artwork- not a single reprint anywhere!! .

CRYPT OF HORROR #9

Artists include: Steve Ditko, Joe Maneely, Paul Reinman, Dick Ayers, Tony DiPreta, Hi Eisman, Bernie Krigstein, Harry Lazarus, Joe Certa, Mo Marcus, Rudy Palais, Howard Nostrand, Bob Powell, and Bill Everett.
Intended Audience: All-ages fans of classic horror comics material; comics historians and fans of vintage reprint material of all kinds.
Format: Standard comic book size; saddle-stitched, ULTRA-THICK- 140 pages, black & white interiors with color covers.
Synopsis: The WEIRDEST horror stories to come out of 1950's comics!! This issue features a COMPLETE reprint of the ultra-rare WEIRD TALES OF THE FUTURE #1, originally published by Aragon in 1952; plus another 100 PAGES of never-before-reprinted spookies, drawn by Nostrand, Ditko, Maneely, Powell, Krigstein and other greats!!
Special Notes: This ongoing series presents MORE vintage pre-code horror comics in one place, at one time than anything short of a 1950's newsstand!! This is the material that inspired the great horror film producers and directors of the '70's, '80's and '90's. WEIRD TALES OF THE FUTURE #1 is one of the rarest, most sought-after esoteric Pre-Code comics among collectors of the genre, with mint copies regularly selling for more than $1,000.00, and is being reproduced in it's entirety here based on the positive response we have gotten by our recent experiments reproducing complete issues of Golden Age superhero comics in our companion title, Men of Mystery. The balance of the issue, reprinting material originally published by Harvey, ACG, Prize, Stanmore, Ace, ME, Charlton and others, includes such classic tales as: "Rift of the Maggis", "Appointment With A Corpse", "The Reluctant Witch", "The Flying Head", and "Terror House," "Monster In The Fog." No true aficionado of the comics macabre could be without this book.

Synopsis: CENTAUR COMICS SPECIAL!! Coverage of this early publisher includes a COMPLETE reprinting of AMAZING MAN #12, along with other Centaur stories. See AMAZING MAN, SHARK, FANTOMAN, RAINBOW, MIGHTY MAN, MINIMIDGET and more!! Plus, Golden Age favorites DOLLMAN, BLACK TERROR, AMERICAN EAGLE, SCARAB, SPY SMASHER, AIRBOY and others in full-story reprints!!
Special Notes: The legendary CENTAUR COMICS line has been a virtual Holy Grail to Golden Age collectors for almost half a century. Beginning life in the mid-1930's as Comic Magazine Corporation of America, they were one of the first comic outfits to experiment extensively with costumed and super-heroes in the immediate wake of SUPERMAN's introduction at DC in 1938. The list of early Centaur creators reads like a virtual Who's Who, as almost every comic book giant-to-be cut his professional teeth on Centaur strips. The earliest Timely (later MARVEL) books were actually put together using CENTAUR writers and artists, and in fact the "creative drain" caused when the Timely titles took off contributed to Centaur's eventual demise. And, the fact that CENTAUR was NOT a subsidiary or offshoot of any larger, general-interest periodical publisher (as most early comic book companies were) led to very spotty distribution, making the original books extremely rare and pricey items, as the company was OUT of the comic book business by early 1942. These seminal stories have almost NEVER been reprinted anywhere; even we at AC Comics have only previously reprinted about a half-dozen CENTAUR stories. The centerpiece of MOM #83's most extensive reprint coverage EVER of the CENTAUR group is a full-issue reproduction of the twelfth issue of it's best-known title, AMAZING MAN COMICS- which stars CENTAUR'S most popular hero, Amazing Man- plus a full roster of other bizarre, experimental heroes. The influence of the pulp magazines, late 1930's movie and radio culture, and pure native inspiration on the birth of the superhero as comic book icon was never more evident than in this previously-unseen and historically important material. But that's not all. The NEW Men of Mystery 200-plus page bookshelf format has enough room to showcase something for everyone, so this issue also includes high-quality vintage strips from other defunct publishers including never-before-reprinted stories starring Nedor Comics' BLACK TERROR, AMERICAN EAGLE, SCARAB and FIGHTING YANK; Hillman's AIRBOY, Fawcett's SPY SMASHER, QUAILTY Comics' DOLLMAN, and Fox Features' GREEN MASK. For readers fascinated by Golden Age reprints, the new Men of Mystery is THE best value in comics. Check out Men of Mystery #83 and see.

Intended Audience: All-ages fans of Golden Age reprint material, art aficionados, comics historians, and fans of classic action, adventure and Western material of all kinds.
Format: Standard comic book dimensions; extra-thick 120-page saddle-stitched design; black & white interiors with color covers.
Synopsis: 120-page compilation of never-previously-reprinted classic Western stories from the 1950's, including stories starring ROY ROGERS, DALE EVANS, JOHN WAYNE, TOM MIX, WYATT EARP, WILD BILL ELLIOTT, ROCKY LANE, and MONTE HALE . With art by masters of the genre's heyday like Toth, Ayers, Manning, Spiegel and Sinnott.
Special Notes: The Western was one of the most bankable genres in popular culture for more than three quarters of a century, nowhere more so than in the comic books. Hundreds of titles, featuring thousands of cowboy characters, entertained literally millions of readers, and this collection spotlights some of the most well-crafted . This new compilation title includes high-adventure stories starring the likes of historical characters WYATT EARP; popular movie cowboys like ROY ROGERS, JOHNNY MACK BROWN, LASH LARUE, WILD BILL ELLIOTT and SMILEY BURNETTE; television cowboys including RANGE RIDER, and all-original comic-book creations like ARROWHEAD. Western-themed back-issues remain one of the strongest, most consistent sellers among our AC backlist, and we feel this new, omnibus-sized compilation format will be even more appealing to the die-hard collectors out there looking for classic, vintage cowboy comics reprints. The supply of this kind of material available to fans is extremely limited, and this collection provides a large quantity of the very best full-story Western reprints from genre's best period..

FEMFORCE OMNIBUS Volume 4
$29.95, 200+ page, perfect bound trade paperback format
** Not Yet Available **
Black & white interiors with full color covers.

Writer's and Artist's Names: Writers include Bill Black, The Count, Rik Levins, and Dan Eiler. Artists include The Count, Mark Propst, Mark G. Heike, John Dell, Bill Marimon, Norman Hardy, Jr., Rik Levins, Frank Turner, Bill Black and Will Meugniot
Intended Audience: All-ages fans and readers who like Silver-Age style superheroics as well as fans of classic "good girl" art, and completists and collectors of reprint compilations.
Format: Standard comic book size, perfect-bound, 220-plus page trade paperback; black & white interiors with color covers. Collects issues #24-30 of the long-running Femforce comic book series in their entirety, plus commentary by AC Comics publisher and Femforce creator Bill Black.
Synopsis: The chronological reprinting of comicdom's premiere "good girl" art superheroine team comic continues!! This volume covers FEMFORCE #24-30, wherein RAD'S reform fails, COLT temps as team leader, JEN becomes the new MS.VICTORY, the BLACK SHROUD reappears, SYNN returns from limbo, Golden Age heroes (and villains) revive, and GARGANTA is born!!
Special Notes: Some of THE most important events to shape the AC Comics superhero universe occurred within the issues of FEMFORCE that are covered in this Volume 4 compilation :MS. VICTORY'S daughter Jennifer is manipulated into becoming a super-powered operative and replacing her mother as team leader of the FF while Joan Waybe is manifesting the anti-social persona of RAD. This situation crystallizes the antagonistic relationship between Joan (the REAL MS. VICTORY) Wayne and her daughter Jen that persists to this day. THE major villain in the ACU, The BLACK SHROUD manifests his influence during this period, which begins a long-running storyline that will culminate in the massive battle against him that became known as The Shroud War. As The SHROUD's machinations increase, the cast of AC "good guys" assembling to fight him grows as well. Long-time Paragon Publications favorite SYNN is brought back from exile in limbo to join the FF, and the entire populace of Dr. Jonathan (PURPLE CLAW) Weir's VAULT OF HEROES- dozens upon dozens of actual Golden Age heroes and heroines, originally published by myriad now-defunct comic book houses- are revived to prep for the fight against The SHROUD. (Unfortunately, an equivalent number of VILLAINS also stored in stasis revive as well, to act as pawns for the master menace!!) And, as part of a separate storyline, Dr. Carol Heisler, looking for a cure for arthritis, finds her self-experimentation turning her into the 50 foot tall rampaging giantess known as GARGANTA!! FF creator Bill Black reclaimed the full scripting chores on FEMFORCE during this period, and began to turn the book into an ongoing action-and-soap-opera comic book classic, and with art chores handled by soon-to-be Marvel/DC mainstays like Rik Levins, Bill Marimon, Frank Turner, Mark Propst and John Dell, the FEMFORCE title began to really hit it's stride during this period.

Black & white interiors with full color covers.

Writer's and Artist's Names: Writers include Mark G. Heike, Stephanie Sanderson-Heike, Eric Johnson, Mauricio Hunt, Enrico Teodorani, Eric Lindberg and Rock Baker. Artists Include Brad Gorby, Jeff Austin, Rock Baker, Jerry Loomis, Antonio Conversano, and Eric C. Nelson.
Cover Art- Brad Gorby and Mark Heike
Intended Audience: All-ages fans and readers who like Silver-Age style superheroics as well as fans of classic "good girl" art and superhero comics in general.
Format: Standard comic book size, DOUBLE-THICK 84-page length; black & white interiors with color covers; saddle-stitched.
Synopsis: Will SYNN have to be permanently banished or will STARDUST's risky solution be the answer? And where do PARAGON's "imaginary monsters" fit in? As TARA is called to Jungle Island and NIGHTVEIL and MS. VICTORY face danger fighting solo, SHE-CAT must salvage her love life. Fan-favorite artist BRAD GORBY returns!!
Special Notes: Another SUPER-SIZED 84-page landmark extravaganza, as all-time FEMFORCE fan favorite BRAD GORBY returns to pencil a chapter this issue, as well as illustrate the spectacular color cover. Brad's atmospheric and evocative artwork on the title during the 1990's is considered the high-water mark of the entire series by long-time fans, and anyone interested enough to look back on those issues will understand why Brad was Todd McFarlane's first choice to replace himself on Image Comics' SPAWN series during it's heyday. After a decade out of the comics business, Brad makes his triumphant return here. But as always, story trumps art in FF as the lead feature begins to tie divergent plot elements together as a previously-dispensed-with menace will return to threaten the FEMFORCE. And with more than 80 pages to work with, fascinating back-up features abound, as Mauricio Hunt's distaff teen avenger KINETICS returns, 1-800-GIANTESS brings back more wild fantasy, the "gentle giantess" ROWENA is back in another wacky adventure, and a double-length DINOSAUR GIRL story takes us back to the war-torn Pacific Theatre of 1943. Almost FOUR TIMES as many pages of all-new, never-before-seen story and artwork than in any standard comic book- not a SINGLE reprint!! The best value in all of comics!

Intended Audience: All-ages fans of Golden Age superhero reprint material; art aficionados, comics historians, collectors of bookshelf compilations and fans of classic action, adventure and superhero material of all kinds.
Format: Standard comic book dimensions, but in a special 200-page squarebound bookshelf format TPB. Black & white interiors with full color covers.
Synopsis: NEDOR COMICS EXTRAVAGANZA!! A Tribute to this venerable Golden Age publisher includes a COMPLETE reprinting of BLACK TERROR #27, featuring art by Mort Meskin!! Also, other Nedor stories starring FIGHTING YANK, DOC STRANGE, CAPTAIN FUTURE, COMMANDO CUBS, LIBERATOR, PYROMAN, AMERICAN EAGLE and additional Nedor features, plus other Golden Age surprises!!
Special Notes: The pulp-inspired NEDOR line has long been a favorite among Golden Age collectors (and AC Comics reprint enthusiasts), and this issue, the "New Look" MEN OF MYSTERY devotes the lion's share of it's pages to coverage of this historic comic house, celebrating all of it's top character stars, like the legendary BLACK TERROR (in three never-before-reprinted stories); DOC STRANGE, FIGHTING YANK, PYROMAN, and a host of other features- some not seen since their original publication in the 1940's. Heroes from this group have enjoyed somewhat of a Renaissance in recent years via all-new revival series' at a number of publishers, so interest in their original 1940's incarnations should be high among general comics readers. This issue of MOM contains yet another FULL and COMPLETE reprint of a whole vintage classic comic book (in this case, BLACK TERROR #27) as part of it's contents, since this feature has proved popular with our readers since we instituted it back in MOM #80.
