Just how did a small independent title last so long? We at AC Comics believe it's because the title has been under the control of the Bill Black, creator, publisher and writer for all 100+ issues. Bill Black started out as a kid who loved comic books....and since he could draw and write, well of course this is the road he took. It was a winding road however, starting with a degree in Advertising Design, several agencies, Head of Florida State University's Graphic Lab, educational film production, pro-zines from his Paragon Publications and finally, AC Comics.

Other members of what we call THE FORCE BEHIND FEMFORCE (Black, Gorby and Heike) have been on the book almost as long. Associate editor and inker extraordinaire, Mark Heike, started out with FEMFORCE on Issue #1. He left comics for two years to join his brother's architectural company, but missed having ink all over his hands and telephone. He's been with AC and the FEMFORCE ever since, inking and sometimes penciling or writing. Mark helped Bill define the attributes that make the ladies who they are.

Penciler Brad Gorby did his first FEMFORCE story in Issue #23 and did stories in other AC titles before coming on-board as regular penciller at Issue #74. He's multi-talented and has worked as a sculptor and an animator as well as comic book artist. His contributions have helped make the FEMFORCE title what it is today....a title with fabulous art, unique and well-defined characters each with their own personality and look.

And we must not forget to mention Eric Coile who has done a number of FemForce stories in his excellent pencil style and Dave Roberts who has also pencilled for FemForce. The artists love what they are doing and it really shows in what has become the longest running independent team title in America. Come back to this page again, and we'll let the staff talk at you.
