Best of the West 58
All your favorite vintage Western features are back this issue, plus some exciting newcomers to the BOW fold!! The Durango Kid tussles with Carton & his cattle rustlers in “Show ‘Em No Mercy”, drawn by Joe Certa & John Belfi; while Redmask performs in “Terror’s Theatre”, written by Gardner Fox and illustrated by Frank Bolle; Dick Ayers & The Haunted Horseman return in “The Scarecrow Sheriff”, and Lash LaRue gets the spotlight in “The Silent Watch”, amongst our regular cast of classic reprint features. Then come the special guests- the art of the great Joe Maneely graces The Latigo Kid in “Riot At The Rodeo”; and pretty Kitty Carson , the ruff ridn’ gal sheriff chimes in, ably rendered by another stellar creator, Bob Powell, in “Stagecoach Murders”. Finally, it’s a Rocke Mastroserio-drawn short, Buffalo Bill Cody. Just like every issue, it’s Western thrills aplently reprinted from the Golden Age of the Western comic book, the 1950’s, as we re-present classic comic book stories originally published by Magazine Enterprises, Fawcett, Chalton & others, using state-of-the-art reproduction techniques. Best of the West is 44 pages, standard comic book size & format, black & white with color covers, saddle stiched. This issue was printed in 2006.
