It’s manga mania as that horrible apparition out of the Golden Age, The Claw returns. He’s taken over the underwater city of Oceanus One, and uses it as his base of operations for a new plan of world conquest. Hoodwinking Synn and her newly-created anime friends Popsie-Pop and Manga-Synn into coming down to Oceanus, The Claw hooks up her synestropic brain to a machine that will broadcast it’s reality-warping powers across the globe. His fiendish scheme? Remake ever human on the planet in his own image. Well, since Synn recently got hooked on reading manga and looking at anime’, her mind is still filled with those images, so when the machine is turned on- you guessed it- it’s big heads, big eyes and big hair for every man, woman and child on the planet. This doesn’t slow down The Claw a bit, though, as with an army of hypnotically- controlled Captain Freedoms in tow, he launches a full-scale attack on Washington D. C. As the FF giantess Tara Fremont grows to twelve stories high to bring The Claw down to size, he grows even bigger than the giant woman heroine. Can anything stop him? “Mangled By The Claw” is written by Bill Black, drawn by Brad Gorby, and inked by Mark Heike. It guest stars Commodore Farraday, Riot O’Rourke, Reddevil, Crimebuster, Squeeks, The Shade, and Bill Clinton, all drawn in a manga style, and has some great manga-style GTS battle scenes. Color cover by Brad Gorby and Mark Heike, interiors are black and white with graytones. Standard comic book format. Printed in 1996.

A five-alarm, allout battle ensues, until a high-voltage jolt from Rayda takes down Valkyra, and the giant woman known as Tara cages Proxima in some steel girders. In the ensuing mele, Strock, Synn and Dusty get free, and quickly return ‘Cat to her normal state. Rushing to Colorado, the girls join in the battle with Capricorn, until Nightveil, retrieved from the void by Azagoth, returns to materialize inside Capricorn’s force shield, and destroy his power nexus. This untitled story was written by Bill Black, pencilled by Brad Gorby, and inked by Mark Heike. In a storyline that continues from the one-shot Reddevil comic released several months earlier, the Femforce is face-to-face with a modern version of the greatest anti-hero of the Golden Age of comics, Lev Gleason’s The Claw! Magically brought to life out of Reddevil’s memory, The Claw has amassed a gang of thugs , losers and tiny winged demons; and working out of a suddenly-active volcano, is picking up his plot for world domination right where he left off fifty years ago. And the only answer to defeating him is to be found in… a vintage comic book? “In The Clutches Of The Claw, Part II”, is written by Bill Black, drawn by Dick Ayers, and inked by Mark Heike. It guest stars Miss Masque, The Avenger, Yankee Girl, Darkfire, Dr. Jonathan Weir, Catman and Kitten and Crimebuster. Then, the strange tendril-filled house that trapped Nightveil last issue has snagged Dragonfly- and only by changing back to Nancy Arazello can she escape. But what do those tendrils have to do with the death of Jason Burke, wonders Buckaroo Betty, and how can her late father, The Haunted Horseman, help solve the mystery? This untitled story is written by Bill Black, drawn by Dick Ayers, and inked by Chad Hunt and Mark Heike. Color photo cover of Sharon Blair as Synn; interiors are black and white with graytones.
