How many comic books reach a 175Th issue? Over the years, including all titles, companies and genres, only a few dozen have made it. Narrow that down to the so-called “independent publishers”, and the number becomes no more than a handful. No one thought it could be done- yet here it is, FEMFORCE issue #175, coming from AC Comics in June!! A lot of comic book lines celebrate landmark issues star-studded extravaganzas, intertitle crossovers and lots of characters you don’t expect to see, but WE plan to denote this accomplishment by devoting ALL our resources to producing JUST what our faithful longtime readers have stuck with us for- a damn good STORY and great ART. Oh, there’ll be a few surprises and a special offer here and there, but get FF #175 for the same reason we’ve soldiered on for 32 years and 174 previous issues- it’ll be a REALLY GOOD READ. This issue starts off with the FEMFORCE team still South of the border in Brazil, faced with the task of removing the threat of ZAZURRA. How DO you deal with a 60-foot tall animated statue that poses a threat to everyone and everything every time she takes a step, but isn’t really evil, anyway? No sooner do MS. VICTORY, SHE-CAT, SYNN STARDUST and TARA answer that question than they must face the unexpected reappearance of a long-time foe- LADY LUGER!! See how the surprise end of that decades-long conflict doevtails into the terror of the awesome, electrically-charged BLITZFRAU, in a feature-length story written by Stephanie and Mark Heike, with art by Rock Baker and Jeff Austin, guest-starring FF founding member RIO RITA!! Then, the misunderstood misanthrope known as RAD has been seduced into working undercover for the US government in order to infiltrate a shadowy paramilitary organization. In her first “mission” for the bad guys, Ms. V’s daughter Jen travels to Siberia to take out two supervillainesses in “Fools Rush In”, written by Mark Holmes, with art by Jacob Bear. Then, Ms. VICTORY and TARA are faced with the challenge of stopping a good man gone wrong through no real fault of his own in “Monstrous Burden”, scripted by Andrew Hawnt and illustrated by Francesco Savi. SYNN must deal with an unlikely opponent (in an unexpected setting) in “A Girl With Brains”, and NIGHTVEIL uses stealth, strategy and good planning to turn the tide in her battle with VIVARNA and her wizardous allies on Dark Dhagor in “Two Faces Have I”. Eighty pages of the finest crafted “good girl” art adventure superheroics available in comics today- but THAT is what’s between the covers of this awe-inspiring issue. Out of every five copies of FF #175 sold through comic shops, ONE will feature a special alternate cover design featuring the unpredictable RAD, pencilled, inked and PERSONALLY AUTOGRAPHED by FEMFORCE creator and AC Comics Editor Emeritus BILL BLACK!! The creative wellspring who thought all this stuff up, launched AC Comics and the man responsible for all things AC has produced this special cover and will sign EVERY ONE to sport his design – so if you want one, be sure to make certain that your local comic book retailer orders at least FIVE copies of FF #175 so that he can get you one of the autographed BILL BLACK variants. ( please note that this autographed variant promotion will NOT be available by mail, in the www.accomics.com webstore, or anywhere else online. The only way to get it is through your local comic retailer. ) As always, FEMFORCE #175 will be a full 80 pages; black and white with color covers, standard comic book size and saddle-stitched. Available at your local comic dealer in June for $9.95. Ordered it with your local comic book retailer out of the April 2016 issue of the Diamond Previews catalog.
