AC Comics is an independent comic book publisher! We sell our brand new comic books worldwide every month through comic shops worldwide through Diamond Distribution's Diamond Previews catalog and our comic book back issues (from 1982 up to today!) through our website at https://www.accomics.com .
AC Comics was started by publisher/writer/artist Bill Black. Our best known comic book is Femforce, published since 1985. There was a Femforce Special in 1984, prior to the start of the regular series.
Mark G. Heike and his wife Stephanie Heike took over day-to-day publishing of AC Comics in 2014.
As of 2023, AC Comics published Femforce #200 by original creator Bill Black.

We have experimented with digital comics, but we have no interest in pursuing digital comics any further at this time.
Since we actually need the sales of comic books to keep publishing (and have virtually no ancillary products with our characters on them like the corporate conglomerate comics), we are still relying on physical comics sales through comics shops worldwide through Diamond Distribution.

Licensed and Custom Comic Books
Do you have a project that you would like to see as a custom designed comic book? We can take your concept through approval at various stages to finished product.
We have over thirty years of experience doing custom comic books and officially licensed comics over the years for various clients and property holders.
Among others, AC Comics reprints of Roy Rogers western comics were authorized by Roy Rogers and his estate. Sheena, Queen of the Jungle was done with the approval of the rights holder Paul Aratow, who bought the rights doing the Sheena movie in the 1980's.
Bill Black and Mark G. Heike did an award winning promotional comic book for Roy Rogers/Hardee's as a freelance project.
Mark G. Heike and Stephanie Heike did the Calgary Stampede adventures comic book.

If you are having trouble locating a book, try looking for the year it was published (from 1983 to present) which should show you everything that came out that year that's currently on the shop. If it's not on the shop, we still have several comics not yet back up, so please email us if you're looking for something that's not there!
Just because it's not on the shop doesn't mean it's "rare" or sold out, we just don't have time to re-list them all! We've have several shop changes over the years and simply not every book is listed.
"Add to Cart" buttons will add the item you select to your online shopping cart for purchase when you are ready to checkout. You can change the quantity of the items selected within your cart if you would like to purchase multiple copies of the same product.

For Pencillers, Inkers, Letterers and Colorists:
We really love and appreciate getting enthusiastic artist submissions from potential freelancers, including pencillers, inkers, letterers and colorists wanting to do comic books, but please DO NOT send ANY attachments to this email address.
If you have your art posted somewhere online on a site that you could send us a link to, that would be great!
Please email links to your artwork posted somewhere online (for example, on a showcase/gallery website or a dropbox/wesendit/etc.. file to show off your artwork) and we'll check them out.
We would like you to be able to demonstrate some ability to produce reasonably effective comic book continuity ( Six or seven pages utilizing multiple panels telling a story or sequence of a story) with attractive people/superheroes/superheroines.
Ideally, we would like to see four or five of those pages with depictions of mundane everyday scenes to give us an idea of the quality of the comic artwork by itself before we make a decision to move the discussion along.
We are looking for sequential storytelling in comic book art. We've gotten several people sending us "paintings" lately --static, digitally over-rendered generic straight-on shots of individual characters and being indignant when we've told them "No, this is wrong." We want to see comic book artwork.
While we do not strictly have a "House Style", we do prefer material that will lend itself to "classic American style comic books". If you can draw attractive people using sequential storytelling , we can probably find a place somewhere your material will work.
- Pencils: should be sequential and un-inked--if you have inked samples of your pencils, please include both the inked and the UN-inked pages.
- Inks: Samples should be sequential pages--if you have inked samples, please include both the inked and the UN-inked pencilled pages.
- Color: Color should be directed towards print publication. We would like to see samples of included of both finished tones with special FX and preliminary flats.
- Lettering: Should have some basic display samples as well as balloon lettering. Show that you can handle standard comic book dialogue and sound FX. (We do not use lower case fonts unless a character is whispering!)

Go to your local comic book shop and ask for Diamond Previews.
Look under "AC Comics" in the Diamond Distribution Previews catalog. You will see a listing that's an
advance order --that's a couple of months ahead of when it will actually ship to the comic shop.
Ask the store owner to order the comic book for you. You will then get the comic books in-store in a few months and be able to buy it at cover price or less.
