Stephanie started working in comics back in the 80’s before she graduated from USM (University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS ). Stephanie’s artwork was published by AC Comics starting in 1991 when she sent in pin-ups for the Femforce Pin-up Portfolio contest. She started as a freelance penciller on books like Cat-Man, All Hero Retro Comics, and Big ‘Uns.
Stephanie Heike has freelanced for various comic companies over the years including inking on Garfield for Boom Studios and Xena: Warrior Princess for Dark Horse. She also pencilled features like the Atomic Sub and Venus for Big Bang Comics at Image Comics in the 1990’s as as Stephanie Sanderson. Stephanie married her husband Mark in 2000.
Stephanie’s color comic, 21st Centurions, which was independently self published for three issues and published under AC for ten issues will be back next year.
Stephanie has been working at AC Comics as an Associate Editor since 2000 and officially became Executive Editor at AC Comics in 2014.
In late 2019, AC Comics went to full digital color for its entire line of comic books. Stephanie is usually scripting, pencilling, inking, lettering and coloring for books for AC Comics and does a lot of behind the scenes production.
As of 2023, Stephanie is currently working on Superbabes, Cauldron of Horror and production and editing on Heroine Heaven, a reprint anthology.
