FAQ | AC Comics Frequently asked Questions

  • AC Comics is a long running American independent comic book company that has been around since the 80’s, started by Bill Black. We work with distributors to send our comics to comic shops and our comic book back issues (going back to 1983!) through our website at https://www.accomics.com .

Since the collapse of Diamond Comics Distribution, we are open to additional new distributors to comic shops! Currently, we are distributed to comic shops through Philbo Distribution. AC Comics currently is going through Philbo Distribution! If your local retailer will not order from Philbo , there is Mycomicsshop.com based in Texas and Westfield Comics based in Wisconsin–both of which offer a subscription service.

We currently publish in full color the comics:

Femforce, Cauldron of Horror, Superbabes and Heroine Heaven .

We always urge you to support your local comic book retailers to PRE-ORDER and BUY your NEW COLOR AC Comics from them instead of us and our back issues, going back to the early 1980’s! If you STILL can’t find AC back issues, we have most of them still here, but a lot of hot issues are SOLD OUT.  Yes, that includes some of the latest color issues and we have priced remaining copies accordingly.

Our recent full color back issues are NOT cover priced. If you want to buy them at cover price or less, Please buy them from a comics dealer, not us. We have back issues going back to the early 1980’s! If you STILL can’t find AC back issues, we have most of them still here, but a lot of hot issues are SOLD OUT.  Yes, that includes some of the latest color issues.

All Female? Of course not! We have lots of male characters too!

Based on older characters?

Some of our characters were inspired by 1940’s characters that were published for less than a decade. Our characters have been around since the 1980’s and have been substantially changed in terms of name, appearance and powers–they are NOT the same characters at all.

Do you hear people constantly pointing out that the All American Comics character the Black Canary was based on the Harvey Comics character the Black Cat? Is she essentially the “same” character DC publishes now –even after she’s been around for decades?

We do “classic American comic book” sexy characters, from the 1940’s “Good Girl Art” to the 90’s “Bad Girls”. We are currently rated ” Teen/ 13+” through our current distributor, but that’s just a guideline–other than some soap opera level drama, they’re probably safe for nine year olds, but your mileage may vary–please read the book first, before letting your kid read it if youre worried!

Go to your local comics shop or buy comics on our online AC Comics webstore,

where we have more specific details.

If you are international (IE: NOT in the USA), please DO NOT ORDER ONLINE at this time. Please contact us directly via phone or email  and we will arrange special shipping to you.

Probably not! We’re hard at work just getting our books done to do anything! Since the collapse of Diamond, we’re trying to keep going and doing comic books!
