Matt Baker is my all time, number one undefeated champion “Good Girl Artist” of the golden age! The sheer volume of girl art this guy turned out would put him in the books. Phantom Lady, Sky Gal and a continent full of Jungle girls. He really knew how to draw women and the fact that he was the best of the best should cement his place in comics history.

Oh, yeah. I discovered Baker’s SKY GIRL in JUMBO COMICS at the 1970 SeulingCon in NYC. I bought the book for SHEENA and found Ginger McGuire an added bonus. So I went back to the dealer’s room and picked up as many JUMBO’s as I could find. You’ll find this hard to believe but the average price back then was about $2.50 a pop!
